Mbiyu Koinange's daughter, former Cabinet Minister to face UDA and ODM in Kiambaa by-elections using Jubilee ticket

Jubilee Party has settled on Lenah Koinange, a daughter of the late cabinet minister Mbiyu Koinange to vie for Kiambaa seat.

Lenah Koinange will be the flag bearer of the ruling party after ten family members who were eyeing for the same seat to replace the late MP Paul Koinange agreed to support her.

As per The Star , it was a tough decision by family members who were all interested in the seat to give up on the mantle. A number of elders are also reported to have drummed up their support and have asked members of the constituency to rally behind Lenah.

The by-election is set to take place in a few weeks to fill the vacant position of the Kiambaa Member of Parliament. This is after former Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange succumbed to covid-19 complications on March 21 in Nairobi.

Jubilee Party will not have a huge task as parties which are aligned to the One Kenya Alliance have rallied behind them to drum up their support.

Jubilee should now expect to battle with ODM and UDA parties in the by-elections.
